Overview

We have an opening for Powerline Technician to work in the Midland, TX area.

 

 

Our client is a leading midstream services firm in Midland, TX who owns, operates, acquires and develops midstream energy assets. They are one of the largest crude oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in the US.

 

 

Responsibilities

 - Tech shall be responsible for reporting project’s status to their assigned Lead and completing assigned tasks. Tech will be responsible for complete Job Folders which include the following but is not limited to:

Job Print, GPS Map, KMZ File, Priced Material List, ROW clearing acknowledgement.

 - Keep track of your timesheet, time and mileage must be entered at the end of each day. You are responsible for being efficient and productive in the tasks you are assigned.

 - Upon project completion, Tech will inspect construction quality, proper voltage, and housekeeping of every location. There is a final inspection sheet that must be filled out the last day contractor is on location. This is mandatory for quality control and smooth operation

Qualifications

Powerline Tech required skills and capabilities:

 

 - Shall possess an extensive knowledge in all aspects of powerline construction, maintenance and protocol. With working knowledge of reclosers, capacitors, voltage regulators, and transformers.

 - Shall have the ability to calculate fuse coordination, proper fuse sizing and placement, along with transformer fuse sizing and service wire sizing as per NEC spec.

 - Knowledge of Right-of-Way standards and the ability to design powerline routes, draft prints, write up materials lists, and stake line as needed.

 - This position requires the individual to be highly self-motivated and detail oriented. Proper logging of construction dates, time frames of project completions, maintenance upkeep along with keeping up with emails. Emails shall be answered promptly and professionally.

 - Candidate shall have strong leadership skills as to oversee contractors during construction projects and keep up EOG safety standards.

 - Tech shall keep a good rapport with fellow teammates and be a team player.

- 2-5 years Powerline experience
- Familiar with OSHA 1926.1407-1411
- Proficient in Excel, word, outlook
- Substation construction
- Transmission construction
