Overview

We have an opening for a Civil Engineer to work remotely on a job based in Louisiana.  A PE (or EIT with plan to get licensed) for the state of Louisiana is required.

Responsibilities

This position will provide civil/structural design engineering support for all project phases of greenfield/brownfield project work. Role is expected to represent Client interest in all project phases including but not limited to estimation, procurement, design, and construction support.  In house Civil/Structural design/engineering and evaluation of third party designs for:

 

- Support structures for pipe, pumps, piping manifolds, conveyors, cranes, etc.

- Marine dock design review (pilings, mooring and breasting dolphins, etc.)

- Drainage systems, access road, concrete & asphalt, evaluation of geotechnical reports

- Equipment, tank, and building foundation design and review

- Apply company and industry standards to design, evaluation of civil/structural work

- Troubleshoot existing civil and structural issues including foundations, supports, drainage, etc.

-  Work within and lead multidisciplinary groups variety of employees, vendors, customers, contractors, and regulatory officials

- Ability to read and effectively communicate orally and in writing using courtesy, respect, tact and professionalism

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Training/Experience

 

Position Requirements

 - Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related physical sciences from an accredited university

 - 7-10+ years of experience as a civil/structural design engineer.

 - 5+ years of experience specific to oil/gas/chemical/utilities facility civil/structural engineering, design and construction projects.

 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

 - Prefer PE or EIT with plan to get licensed

 - Possesses or ability to attain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card

 - Possess and maintain valid driver's license

 

Competencies/Skills/Abilities:

 - Microsoft Office Systems

 - Applicable engineering software, STAAD.

 - Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

 - Ability to coordinate, clarify, prioritize and manage concurrent or simultaneous  projects of various sizes, in various locations with various completion dates

 - Ability to cooperatively work with people and accept supervision and direction

 - Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction

 - Working knowledge of applicable industry codes including ACI, ASCE, and AISC

 

Working Conditions

 - Primarily office work. Some field work includes participation in walk downs which may involve climbing stairs and ladders, walk over uneven surfaces, and confined space entry.

 - Up to 10% US travel may be required.

 - Position can be filled at various levels depending on the successful candidate's job skills and knowledge.
