We are currently seeking a Civil Designer, with recent proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3d, to work with a leading EPC firm in West Houston, TX.

Designers are individuals that are very familiar with the standards and requirements of their design field and can be trusted to put together a large portion of any project on their own.  They can design new buildings, restore and conserve old buildings and develope new ways of using existing buildings. They work closely with engineers, authorities having jurisdictions and clients of all types.


The Civil Designer will be responsible for:


- Using invention, imagination, originality, and talent to create detailed drawings and is capable of making changes on drawings using AutoCAD/Revit. Knowledge of 3D scanning applications is beneficial.

- Following essential scope of work information in every manner necessary to clients, senior management, team members, subordinates, outside consultants, construction professionals, suppliers, and authorities having jurisdiction. 

- Contributing the project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design. 

- Working with the project manager identifies clients’ needs and aligns them with building codes, specific standards, guidelines and other regulations to develop feasibility reports, project schedules and write proposals.

- Maintaining accurate records necessary for billing, communication and project management.

- Working with the project manager, monitors and adheres to project budgets and implements change orders in a timely manner with clients.

- Collaborating with and managing other team members and consultants assigned to the project.

- Embracing the practice of ‘sharpening the saw’ and continuing to learn and advance their skills, technological capabilities, and understanding of clients and business. 

- Maintaining annual continuing education requirements and current licensure, if applicable. 

- Remaining current with familiarity with applicable building codes.

- Traveling locally, regionally, nationally or internationally as needed to perform work at project sites and meet with clients.

- Degree or certificate preferred, or the equivalent in training and experience. 


- 2+ years in the field

Specific skills: 

- Proficient/ hands on skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Civil3D

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Land Development, Site Planning & Utility, Grading, etc. are all civil design experience needed

- Effective communicator with command of written and oral skills

- Detailed and accurate about drawings, design, regulations, billing and time keeping

- Capable of being client focused and honoring deadlines


- Degree or certificate preferred, or the equivalent in training and experience. 

Physical abilities/tools:

- Maintains a valid Texas driver’s license

- Reliable personal transportation to travel locally to job sites

- Cell phone and service

- Capable of standing for 1 hour and lifting 30 pounds

- Clear record of criminal history and driving record confirmed with background check (required for military contracts)
