Overview

We have an opening for a Project Engineer to work in the Pasadena, TX area.

 

 

Our Client operates 36 individual business units across multiple industries including chemical, oil & gas, as well as a number of consumer brands.  With a diversified product portfolio, our Client’s products has a wide range of end market applications.

 

Responsibilities

The Project Engineer works under the direction of a Project Manager to develop and execute small to mid-cap projects within budget and schedule constraints. This position is responsible for coordination of engineering activities and reviews between engineering contractors, technical subject matter experts, and plant operations and maintenance personnel. The Project Engineer works in conjunction with the Construction Management Team to ensure projects are executed safely and requirements are met for scope and quality.

 

Description:

 

- Oversee engineering on assigned projects from early FEL through detailed design, construction, and startup
- Assist in preparation of the scope of work documents
- Direct the engineering contractor assigned to the project
- Lead organization and execution of design reviews of engineering documents and models
- Work with designers to develop engineering and construction drawings
- Review vendor documents
- Interface with the Business Unit to obtain input into engineering
- Track and manage engineering progress
- Engage Maintenance and Operations in both the FEL and execution phases
- Facilitate constructability input into design
- Participate in schedule and cost reviews for assigned work areas
- Ensure specifications and internal standards are followed in design
- Ensure quality is integrated into the design documents
- Support construction through review and responses to Requests-For-Information (RFI)
- Manage project MOC development and lead system punch-listing, completion activities, and PSSRs

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years work experience working in an onsite Downstream environment
- Experience with EPC projects, coordinating design activities required  
- Field experience in construction related activities

- Basic understanding of the FEL project process and interactions required to execute a project
- Knowledgeable of industry codes & standards including ASME, API, and NFPA
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
