We have an opening for a Mechanical Construction Specialist to work in the Denver City, Tex / Hobbs, NM area.

Responsibilities

The Construction Specialist will work as a member of the Maintenance and Construction team in EOR reporting to the Leader Maintenance and Construction. This role will execute construction activities start thru commissioning on upstream surface production facilities supporting production fluids (oil, water, gas) from wellhead thru sales. The candidate will also manage contract crews, material procurement and inspections within and outside the company to provide working facilities on time and on-budget in accordance with Corporate HES and industry best practices, policies, and procedures.

 

 - Ability to collaborate with Operations in maintenance and troubleshooting of facilities

 - Directs and manages assigned Roustabout, Pipeline and General Construction contract crews to efficiently execute construction activities of assigned facilities projects

 - Provide input to develop Facility and construction team standards and practices

 - Understand production equipment, materials, and design that best support project

 - Manages major project schedule, resources, and enforces product or service quality and compliance to design specifications and operating procedures

 - Tracks costs with onsite procured items and/or services required for project activities and reports timely and accurately to designated leadership

 - Provide HES leadership and enforces policy compliance

 - Identify obstacles that may impact project execution and support mitigating processes

 - Ability to provide construction contractor oversight for DOT regulated pipelines

 - Ability to identify the construction scope and techniques to incorporate in cost estimating for larger pipeline projects (e.g., gathering, fiberglass, composite pipelines.

 - Ability to interpret control system FTI documentation (e.g., control philosophy, Cause & Effect, instrument drawing)

 - Ability to collaborate with FE and electrical SMEs to provide oversight of electrical construction

 - Ability to provide feedback in the development or revision to HES PSPG documents

 - Provide leadership of RCFAs and PSI investigations as requested

 - Ability to collaborate with the FE to identify solutions for mitigating pipe stress problem areas

 - Ability to provide feedback and analysis regarding development or revisions to MI QA/QC procedures

 - Ability to determine Earned Value at any given time in the project

 - Ability to organize and facilitate a simple RCFA / FMEA

 - Ability to collaborate with FE & SME to execute a complex RCFA / FMEA

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 - High school or equivalent education is required

 - Candidates should have at least 5 -20 years of construction experience

 - Direct experience with maintenance, operation and/or construction for Upstream oil and gas production pipeline facilities

 - Experience in rotating equipment (Pumps, Compressors, VRUs): Materials, Design, Installation, Estimation and Operation

 - Experience with surface production equipment (Vessels, Tanks, Headers): Materials, Design, Installation, Estimation and Operation

 - Familiar with civil construction activities and associated permits

 - Knowledgeable in Oil and Gas Construction Industry Standards and best practices

 - Familiar with basic Project Management Principles and techniques

 - Understanding of industry welding requirements and procedures as well as non-destruction evaluation (NDE) methodologies; Certified Welding Inspector (preferred)

 - Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook) and general IT use

 - Ability to travel as required

 - Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record are required
