We have an opening for a Consignment Inventory Analyst to work in the Houston, TX area.

Responsibilities

The primary role of the Consignment Inventory Analyst is to serve as member of the International Trade Compliance Group, to (1) support a robust trade compliance program and (2) seek opportunities that maximize duty refunds to the company. Generally, this position works under limited supervision and works with many stakeholders including internal refinery personnel, accounting/finance and commercial personnel as well as external regulators and Customs brokers. The Customs Analyst has an opportunity to develop a proficiency in US Customs regulations and will be relied on to apply knowledge and expertise in many challenging situations.

 

 

 

Responsibilities include:
 - Develop relationships and interface with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure all P66 hydrocarbon import requirements are being met
 - Managing daily import activities to ensure compliance with Customs regulations
 - HTS classification of P66 products
· Managing collaboration efforts with internal and external partners to implement streamlined data gathering processes across multiple internal and external supply chain functions (Imports, Exports, Tax, Trading, Customs brokers etc…)
 - Optimizing import/export workflows to maximize drawback refunds
 - Leading/Coordinating special projects
 - Serving as a backup for Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) as needed
 - Assisting management with FTZ Compliance Reviews/Audits and if needed interacting directly with US port officials and US Customs
 - Preparing, reviewing and maintaining free trade agreement certificates of origin and manufacture affidavits to support business needs

Qualifications

Basic/Required
 - Legally required to work in the US
 - Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
 - 3 to 5 years of experience in front/mid office commodity operations
 - Regulatory, compliance, or finance/accounting
 - Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office Excel and Word
 - Demonstrate ability to work with a variety of IT systems

Preferred
 - 3 or more years of Experience in International Trade Compliance (eg. Imports, Exports, Foreign Trade Zones, Drawback etc.)
 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills required due to interactions with refinery personnel, accounting analyst, broker and government agents
 - Prior experience with Alteryx and Tableau
 - Ability to work efficiently under time constraints of weekly and daily commitments
 - Detail oriented with ability to multi-task
 - Team player and effective problem solver
 - General understanding of the petroleum Downstream Business
