We are seeking a Water / Wastewater Operator-in-Training for assignment in Defuniak Springs, Florida. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant including maintenance of equipment, quality control/testing and other day-to-day activities on an assigned shift.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

- Learn to inspect and monitor water/wastewater treatment facilities and systems for proper and safe operating conditions

- Learn to collect samples and conduct basic laboratory tests

- Learn to skillfully use a variety of hand and power tools used in the maintenance, testing, monitoring, adjustment and repair of water/wastewater treatment facilities and systems

- Learn and maintain detailed and accurate operational logs, records and reports

- Learn and operate specialized computer programs

- Learn and effectively operate testing equipment

- Learn applicable laws, rules, regulations, and environmental requirements

- High School Diploma or GED

- A valid Drivers License

- 18+ years of age
